I would like this reply (and the fabric in IRS Pub 550) included a liquidated income current market fund instead of a liquidated Company, in my case Schwab PA muni fund SWEXX that liquidated in 2017. The two scenarios are very similar but not similar. My basis during the fund is my Original investment, in addition month-to-month fascination payment
